Aaron Bishop is an illustrator, 3D artist and
photographer from Paradise, Newfoundland.
ere's a brief history about who I am and what I do. I was born in Paradise, Newfoundland, raised by my two very creative parents. My father has worked in painting and carpentry his whole life while my mother has worked in interior decorating in one form or another for most of hers. I started drawing as soon as I could hold a pencil and by age nine had illustrated my own comic series.
In 2004 I got my hands on a copy of Macromedia Flash 4, which even at the time was horribly outdated. After forcing myself day after day to learn the program I eventually turned many of my comic characters into animations, which then turned into games. Eventually I started using the program to design logos, complex illustrations and even magazines. Uneducated, I wasn't aware that its only real function was for creating simple web graphics and animations. Silly me.
By the time I graduated high school, I knew I wanted to do these things for a living. After work in the evenings I found myself itching to work on new projects and learn new things. I started using Photoshop, Illustrator and SketchUp to bring new ideas to life, so eventually I decided to go to college and make it official.
In 2011, I attended a two year course at College of the North Atlantic for Graphic Design. There I absorbed every piece of knowledge I possibly could from the staff of excellent instructors and classmates whom to many of which I now call good friends. I feel I’ve grown many new layers, countless new skill sets and extended my knowledge with a newfound passion for design and its many facets.
After graduation I reached the conclusion that I'd like to try working freelance and grow my own business. Since then I've had a couple exciting years working with some fantastic people on great projects. I love what I do for a living and try to help others love what they do too.
